Senior options

Don’t get confused by all of the options, talk to one of our helpful senior guidance teachers to help you understand the best options you need in order to reach your career and goals. Students at senior level have the option to work towards The Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE).

To be eligible for a QCE, students must:

  • Obtain 20 credits from completed courses of study in Years 11 and 12.
  • Obtain a minimum of 12 points from completed Core (subjects studied for the full two years) in their OP(Authority) or Non-OP(Authority Registered Subjects). The Core is taken over all four semesters of Years 11 and 12. These are represented by English, Mathematics and one other subject.
  • Achieve the required standard ie: “Sound” or better in 5 of their 6 subjects.
  • Achieve a “Sound” in both Literacy and Numeracy for a minimum of one semester.

All students who complete Year 12 will receive a Senior Statement which details all learning achievements.

In addition to the subjects offered, Year 11 and 12 students may participate in further courses conducted by various universities and TAFE Colleges.
