While young children often change their thoughts on what they want to do “when they grow up”, this decision becomes a little more real with each year they progress towards life beyond school. With this in mind, here at Riverside we offer programs that are flexible and allow each student to work towards life beyond school in an area that they are interested in. We also support you as the parent in guiding your child through what can be quite a daunting process by giving advice and offering opportunities to hear from tertiary institution representatives at some of our Workshop days.

The Riverside Curriculum has taken the guess work out of time management and many families are enjoying the day-by-day format to give them the guidelines on how much needs to be covered. “The variety and flexibility is great” is a common comment from parents.
The development of the Riverside Curriculum began with one of the key elements being, listening to the needs expressed by parents and students in order to provide a program that is well structured, clearly laid out and easy to follow.
Back in 2012 the Board Members at Riverside Christian College realised a fundamental problem for families who choose to home educate their children, was the lack of resources and materials written from an Australian perspective which was also Christian and values-based in content.
The questions were asked, “What would it take?” “Would it be accredited by our governing and reporting bodies?” “What human resources and machinery would be needed?” “Could the College support the initial costs of such a production?”
In a short time answers became very clear that we could and should begin writing as soon as possible.
